A view of Bayona from a nearby hill top. The old castle / fort is wonderfully preserved
and is now a Parador hotel.
|
|
The main entrance to the fort, the Phillip IV gate, was constructed in the 17th
century. Some parts, however, are over 2000 years old.

This old forest trail is the GR58 which, at 270 KM long, is Galicia's longest footpath.
We saw about 10Km of it (x2).
|
|
Resting on the GR58. It'll soon be lunch time I hope.

Petroglyhs consisting of Rupestrian engravings made during the Bronze age. So now
you know.

|
We thought the fish was strange for a mountain group and wondered if the red colouring
was from a more recent time? A fantastic sight nevertheless.

Panoramic photo showing Bayona as seen from our cockpit.

The yacht Club. Montereal Yates Club de Baiona. Dead posh inside but not pretentious.
Over tapas and Rioja we watched the Turkish F1 Grand Prix.

Inside of the yacht club building showing the leather seated lounge area. The 42"
TV rises out of the desk at the far end.
