Panorama photo looking across the old harbour to
the city of Coruna. The glassed in balconies are
a feature of Galicia.

The western beach at A Coruña. In windy weather
it's a surfers paridise and in sunny weather a
bathers paradise. Today, being chilly and calm,
its empty. Note use of birthday tripod.

Behind Ruby Tuesday is the P&O liner Venturer,
all 14 floors of it, berthed on the wall of the
marina. I wonder what they pay per night? Nice
touch though, Janet told them it was my birthday
so they have dressed over-all.

Pedestrians only in the upmarket shopping
centre. The paving slabs are 12" thick. Why?
|
|
Leading the Corpus Christie procession are this drumming
band. The youngsters are belting the drums like h... and
making the most noise. Those paving slabs again!

The Cabo Villano wind farm had at least 100
turbines, large and small.
|
|
This is one of the small blades and its still
huge. I'd like to see one of the big ones at
ground level.

These sign are everywhere so we have no excuse
for getting lost. Even when we accidently veer
off the path, a different sign shows to turn
back.

These are goose barnacles and are a real
Galician delicacy. Looking at restaurant prices
and portions we'd guess there is 40 Euros worth
growing on this old trainer.

Not sure what this building once was but it now
has a nice cafe inside.
|
|
The town hall perhaps. On our last visit we saw
robed dignitaries leaving this building.
|
|
Little churches everywhere. We are standing in
the grounds of one, photo'ing another, and just
visible on the left is the bell tower of an old
monastery.
|
|
Our cafe on the lower balcony. We had a splendid
dish of the day having failed to understand any
of the other offerings.

|
Down by the old town walls are so many old
streets its easy to get lost. Right maybe, but
lets not be hasty?
|
|
This arch is the entrance from the river so must
once have been very important. Look how steep
the street is. Imagine pushing your load up
that.
